Newbie question: possible to access files on an Amiga disk using PC disk drive?

Hi!

I'm a new user to this forum, seeking help with the following problem:

I was an active member of the Amiga demo scene back in 1990-92. Now, I kept some old disks with graphics and text files on them - for nostalgic purposes it would be fun to have access to them again, and convert the files to a PC format. Unfortunately, I sold off my Amiga a while back. I currently have a PC with Win XP Pro.

Any useful programs I might check out? I tried looking around, but couldn't find any solutions...

Thanks for your help!

Hi Nethead - welcome to the EAB.

The only real solution to read Amiga disks on a PC is Disk2FDI, but that only runs in DOS.

You'd be better sending the disks to someone on the board so that they can read the files on a real Amiga.

Thanks, CodyJarrett,

Well, then. Anyone having the time and interest to convert my graphics files, I would be very grateful! If this is of any interest, I was a 'gfx'-er for LSD for a while, before becoming a member of Equinox in the end. In my humble opinion, (and if my memory serves me right ) there's some pretty cool Deluxe Paint images on the disks - you would be free to keep these...

If there's a kind-hearted soul out there with time to spare, there's 2 disks - and my wish is to convert the graphic files on them to a PC-friendly format which can be viewed in ordinary PC graphics programs.

If anyone's interested, please contact me!

hey man, as I see you are from Oslo you should be pretty lucky. .

I can do it for you, but I live in Stavanger... I know there are several people in Oslo that are active in the amigascene ...

If you use irc. connect to EFNet (irc.homelien.no) and join #amigano (the norwegian amiga channel) , here you surely can get help (and maybe save those shipping charges aswell) ...

You can also visit www.polarboing.com (norwegian amiga/linux/c64/alternative computer news , also with a forum ...

I you run into any problem you can PM me or post here ..

have a nice day
