Using DeilTracker

Got DeliTracker2 installed, and very good it is too, but I have a few questions :

1) When I load it up, after the main window loads I get
i) Deli-Wizard v2.20 window with loads of stuff. Click hide
ii)New Year Genie message "Not enough free pens available"
iii)PlaySID asking me to register
iv)Xmas-Genie asking me to register

How do I stop all this crap, I just want to play tunes. In spite of reading the docs I'm still not sure what a genie is!

2) Is there any way to get it to default to a certain directory for mod files

3) "Next Mod" only seems to work when the music is stopped, and then it just goes to the same module currently open

1...

click on the genie lamp icon find the wizard, new year and xmas entries, hide the wizard, remove the other 2

click ok

click the notes icon, find playsid and remove it (unless you use it then just hide it)

click ok

go to the settings menu and save...

2...

go to settings menu and select options...

3...

erm, try playing with settings/program feature...

When you've finished, don't forget to save your setting before you quit...

oh, a genie is just a plug-in...

Interestingly, tried to fix this Friday night.

Did as you said Severin and it worked a treat, until...

I tried to change the startup directory in options, then saved those settings. Instead of just saving it came up with a file requester. I clicked on the single config file that was listed in there and the requester went away.

Unfortunately, this brought all the genies back on startup and repeating your instructions to make them go away does nothing aaargggh. Tried 4 or 5 times, and it ignores me changing the genie settings!

Think I will wipe it and re-install. This app seems a bit temperamental, might have a play with the alternatives...

I've used this great little player for several years, but its also been years since I set up the initial prefs, so forgive me if this information is incorrect

I remember something about keeping unwanted genies/plugins in a subfolder inside the genies (or whatever the directory is called) inside Delitracker's install location.

It should ignore the sub directory and just load the ones in that current place.

Hmmm, just checked and Echo is right, I'd forgotten that bit, but looking at the creation dates of the folders, I did install it in 1996...

If you want to try another program I reccommend EaglePlayer (the EMPY gui is excellent). Don't bother trying to register though, I sent off the money 3 times and still haven't had a keyfile, so I'm using one I found on the net...

Yep, tried this and it's finally stopped all the stupid stuff appearing on startup.

Thanks
