request.Apps>Rsrvkick anyone?
Grex 15:18 10 October 2008
Hi everyone! As I found out doing some Google-Groups-search, the program Rsrvkick was actually ment to be delivered with Fusion 3.2 (to replace rsrvwarm and rsrvcold), but It wasn't included in all distributions of Fusion 3.2.
Does anyone have Rsrvkick and is willing to upload it to the Zone? Please?

Greetings,
Grex

the tool was introduced with version 3.4 it seems. and 3.4 didnt made it into the public:

I'm not sure, but I think 3.4 actually IS 3.2. I think the 3.4 Version was renamed to 3.2 before release (at least I am sure this was the case with at least one update of Fusion, most likely this one).
Anyway, I already named the facts: There are people who got their version of 3.2 together with Rsrvkick and such who didn't, I belong to the latter.

@Grex:

It looks like you are correct. The following pages confirm this:

Unfortunately, the version I have includes only the RsrvCold and RsrvWarm commands.

[Edit] It occurred to me that RsrvKick might have been included with the Emplant software, but I've checked and its isn't.

Guys, as I said in the first post, I already DID extensive research some time ago. I don't have any links right now to the arcticles I refer to, but the people on Google-Groups/Usenet surely weren't fantasizing, when they say they got their version of 3.2 including the new rsrvkick. Nor am I fantasizing about it.
The only Explanation to me is that there must have been different Distributions. E.g. in Germany Fusion was distributed by Haage&Partner, in England AFAIK by Blittersoft.
I have also checked IFusionPPC (although I have an 68k-Amiga), which once was uploaded to the Zone, but there's no Rsrv-Program at all in it.

DT176 has 3.2 by DC. but i cant manage to start the DeviousTool itself (snoopdos shows no errors :/ ). so try yourself (zone).
Grex 14:57 12 October 2008
@hit

Nope, not included.
Thanks anyway!

@Grex:

This Czech Amiga News page suggests that the RsrvKick program was
available for Fusion as early as October 1998, together with a new
RsrvCold program and new video drivers!
http://amiga.czex.com/history/10_98e.html

As we have seen, the Fusion 3.2 upgrade was not available until March
2000.

Of course, it's possible that 'RsrvKick' is a mistake when 'RsrvWarm'
was actually intended. However, this is unlikely because news archive
entries are contemporary accounts and this predates the documented
appearance of the RsrvKick program by almost 2½ years!

Naturally, the download link to get this latest stuff is dead!

Methinks this requires further investigation...

[Edit] Haage&Partner's website gives March 1998 as the release date for Fusion Amiga 3.1

@prowler

Thanks for the clue. I have entered the link at webarchive, but none of the downloads work:

Sigh.
Grex 22:20 17 October 2008
Okay, so just for completeness: The downloads on Webarchive don't work, but these are the names of the featured files, so maybe some of you guys could search their harddisks for those filenames, maybe you own them without knowing them:

f31vid32.lha
f31rsv21.lha
newcgx3.lha
hit 00:09 18 October 2008
found two of them:
http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.vgr.com/v4
http://web.archive.org/web/200410092...ww.vgr.com/v4/

f31rsv21.lha still missing.

Edit: on link leads to:
http://web.archive.org/web/200410092...s/F31VID32.LHA

have been looking at that site content, but couldnt find the *rsv*.lha yet :/

Found these files on AFCD50.

They're all there.

Enjoy!

Edit: Attachment removed at Jim Drew's request.

Moving forward Jim...

Please send these type of requests to me instead of prowler; he needs some time out for personal reasons

...plus I'm always around so will deal with quickly

I don't understand, why this was removed. I have a legal copy of the Fusion-Pcx-Bundle, and this archive was simply an update to it.
Anyway, I agree that in case of doubt, something must be removed, when the author himself requests it.

Will do, thanks! You guys have been great about getting things removed. It took Archive.org (TheWayBack machine) almost 2 months to finally remove all of my stuff from their system!

@Grex, the updates were for legal owners like yourself *only*. This should not have been available to anyone else.
