AC1221 maprom help
I'm having trouble getting my A1200 with 3.0 ROMs to load a 3.1 ROM file so that I can load Workbench 3.9.
I have tried 3 different ROM files for version 40.68 but both UAE and my A1200 both fail on it, Showing a red screen on the A1200 and nothing at all on UAE. My ACA1221 is fully unlocked and I can get -maxmem to work no problem. The line I entered at the very top of startup-sequence is: "C:acatune -maxmem -maprom Workbench:KS31.rom -cache on -burst on >NIL:" I placed the ROM file in the root of Workbench to make it easier to find. These ROM files work fine when used in the config settings of UAE so is it something I'm doing wrong? |

Are they AmigaForever encrypted kick ROMs? Can you read the text "Commodore-Amiga" near the beginning of the kick ROM when you look at it with a hex editor?

I think I solved the problem. Looking at the other threads I noticed that the roms were names *.1200. After renaming the extension it seemed to fix itself. So now I have a fully unlocked ACA1221 running at 64MB RAM and 28Mhz CPU.
My next issue is trying to get the games to load. They worked fine on the CF card when I got it with WB3.1 and I should have tested them with UAE when I installed ClassicWB over 3.9. They are doing the same thing when I try loading them in UAE on both the prepared CF card and the HDF file I installed WB to on the PC. Something about a missing file. |

WHDLoad games. They all worked fine before I put 3,9 with Classic on it. There are still a couple that will run with WHDLoad and I haven't touched the games partition at all.

Can you type the message about the missing file that you get here? Is it a kickstart file?

DOS-Error #205
(object not found) on reading "devs:kickstarts/kick34005.a500". I might not have backed up the roms when I reloaded WB. |

I would say so. Once you have copied the kick roms over, the message will dissappear.

Awesome. Works fine now, thanks for your help. Just need to figure out getting CD32 games to work on it and I'm good.
