Interested in 23 way d-types?

Hi

I am currently talking to a supplier who has stock of 23-way plugs and sockets. Would need to bulk buy and pay import duties to make it worthwhile but who would be interested in some connectors and backshells?

Price per connector would be £1.25-1.50 each.
Will take 3-4 weeks to get the parts in stock.

Thanks Stedy,
I would be interested in some in-line plugs/sockets and backshells, and also some chassis-mounting plugs/sockets too, if they're available - say 4 of each variation.

Hi,

Have had some 'fun' trying to procure the parts. The supplier I contacted in South Africa was out of stock. I have found a source of 23 way plugs (for floppy drives) and will be placing an order tomorrow. Have not located any hoods/backshells. You can fit a 25 way cover, without jackscrews easy enough, or use a Dremel to re-align the holes

Still working on obtaining the sockets (for video) but have not heard back from 3 suppliers so far, not a good sign. Have contacted 7 companies so far.

Looked inside my A500 the other day (need to fix it as it's dead) and noticed the connectors were made by Foxconn, assume they are the same company that makes Apple (and many other) products?

These people had DB23 hoods when I ordered a few months back:
http://www.iec-usa.com/
(Note, there are half a dozen stateside companies all with near-identical stocklists and websites - but varying prices. I *think* that one was the cheapest.)

They also list DB23s but could only supply males when I tried to order.

Yup, I fear we may have to hone our junior hacksaw skills on DB25s.

That US company called Cleveland Wire & Electronics did sell me a couple of DB23 connectors a few months ago. They've got pretty much anything I could ever need when talking about cables.

Hi,

I have a small stock of 23 way plugs, to make some external FDD cables up, will put some on my website for sale at the weekend. No luck so far with the 23 was sockets for the Video port. I'm on the contact lists for 3 suppliers now if they ever get any stock
Still awaiting a couple of replies from some overseas vendors.

Hello,

Decided to resurrect my old thread. I have located a supplier with stock of 23 way d-type sockets for Amiga video cables. A connector and backshell would cost around £4.50 or a connector on it's own around £2. Final prices depend on the import taxes and brokerage fees paid.

At these prices, would there be interest?

Annoyingly, Royal Mail are putting their postal prices up again, so my published postal costs will rise by £0.50 from 3rd April. Best to order multiple items Current postal prices here: http://www.ianstedman.co.uk/Sales/sales.html

Hello,

It took a while but I now have some 23 way sockets and backshells in stock. The 23 way connectors are £2.50, the backshells/covers are the same price. P&P is charged at cost.

Also have the 23 way plugs in stock, they are only £1 as they are much easier to obtain.

Will update the website shortly with ordering details, if you want you may PM to reserve stock.

Thanks Ian,

but, hey, some of the lnks are messed up!

Clicking on the CDTV power adapter picture links to the picoPSU compact adaptor page. Clicking on any of the next pictures links to the page which describes the item above it.

Prowler,

The catalogue links should now be fixed. I forgot to update the catalogue to remove the picoPSU, until the new stock arrives.

I spent some time checking the site in IE, Firefox and Chrome but missed the catalogue error!
