The sites I have found have multiple versions of it. The farthest I have gone is the game loads, but then freezes just after the arrows showing the germans attacking other countries.

Both games freeze at the workbench screen. This is on a A1000 with 512K ram, so thinking it might not have enough memory. Thanks for the help.

Just tested in WinUAE with an A1000 Quickstart and it's not working. ...the game probably isn't compatible with this Amiga model / Kickstart. |

I used to play it on my A1000 (expanded to 512Kb) back in the day - worked fine for me. Maybe a kickstart thing? I used 1.2 for many years before I was finally forced to upgrade to 1.3 when my kickstart disk finally died.
I have to say, the protection on that game was genius, even if it was easy to copy out into a table format |

It doesn't with KS 1.1 though; so I guess the question for webmany is what KS does he have in his Amiga? |

BTW what does "crack" mean in this case? The protection is a list of values / ranges for the rockets. In the whdload install, all I did was to show the list on keypress. What did the other cracks do?

No - I played from the original disks (same boxed version as that image) on a single-drive A1000 without any issues at all.

Its an amiga 1000 with 512K ram and kickstart 1.3, but I can try 1.2. I have a single gotek running the latest flashfloppy.

Tried kickstart 1.2 with the disks from here and any others I can find. Thinking something must be messed up on the amiga.

In WinUAE the game works perfectly with an "A1000 / KS 1.2 / 512 Chip RAM" or an "A1000 / KS 1.3 / 512 Chip RAM" configuration. When I originally tested I used KS 1.1, and this fails... |

I think I have it figured, thanks to the box. I was trying to use a single floppy drive. It even messes up in emulation with one drive. I am tracking down another drive and will give it a try.

There's no way known this game is only compatible with multi-drive systems.
Edit: Well, after looking at the box, I guess you're right. I've never heard of this before. |

Yep, I clearly remember the day back in '92 I bought an external drive for my A500 (AmiTech "no-click" drive).
That was the day I finally could play this game. Last edited by Retroplay; 14 January 2019 at 04:25. |
