moderated posts for newcomers
currently there is really a huge plague of advertising bots going on in amiga scene sub forum.
to avoid this nonsense i would suggest moderation/activation of posts for newcomers <10 posts. |

...every single one of these spam threads that have been plaguing EAB for the past month or so have these in common: a) threads always posted in the same "Amiga.scene" section. b) spammer sets location to "ny". c) spammer sets EAB supporter = yes. |

You could add a catchphrase, or some sort of robot testing doodad to the register link?

The registration process needs a proper CAPTCHA to allow you to sign in. The current system obviously does not work anymore. RCK needs to build it into it.

I could put "ny" as my location and get banned, that sounds bad. Also I don't think the moderators need any more work on their shoulders. |

Add a user-invisible(but not bot invisible) field to the register form and block posts from any "user" that fills that invisible field out.
https://www.sitepoint.com/easy-spam-...n-form-fields/ simple solution above |

Guys, we are on it; but as already mentioned, it has been a plague for a good month
Seriously, when's the last time threads by spammers lasted longer than 1 hour on EAB? Overnight GMT, yes though. Just keep reporting as you do though; it's the first section I check and I'm sure other GMs also Saying all that, there needs to be a better solution... where's bossman RCK? |

why is there a 60 seconds limit for reporting spam posts?
i totally understand that limit regarding normal posts in forums. but why is there a limit for reporting something to moderators? |

Any and all things you can click on and send data with can be abused, so they all have a delay.
A bot could also "report-bomb" using that link. |
