I've got a different adaptor - it's switcheable supporting 2 x CF cards and the HDD LED on the Amiga is ALWAYS on, but on the CF board itself the LED there flashes with activity. Does this fix only apply to those CF boards where you get NO LED activity on the Amiga LED at all?

Argh!
I just had a closer look to why I never got this mod to work properly.
It never had anything to do with the adapter, or soldering the LED either way around. It was just me who thought I was so smart buying an extra pricey, long life, industrial grade CF card. That piece of sh-t doesnt support LED activity on pin 39! http://www.stec-inc.com/downloads/fl...1000-04496.pdf Frustrating? Sure is! |

Kingston flowery type CF works quite well in two of my Amigas. They are also quite cheap.

Now I have this problem! These shitty adapters just don't show the HDD light.
Thanks for this mod, I will try it ASAP! |

Just one note, it's not necessary that the far side of the LED needs to be connected. On adapter I got I had to connect inner side od the LED to get it working.
If I remember correctly that wire needs to be connected to plus side of the LED. I used small CR2032 battery and two wires to test which side of the LED is positive lead, inner one was it. Or better yet, if your adapter has same letters (Adapter V.B1) as mine you most likely need to solder on inner side of the LED. Anemos' adapter has different text, maybe it's different revision. |

thanks for this hardware fix..first i solder to the positive side of the LED (like shown in the first post) and then resolder it to the negative side and now it works...

I have a slight issue with mine... The LED on the adapter lights up fine but the hard disk light on the Amiga is not doing anything... I have checked the LED itself and it still works. Any ideas?

For SD - IDE adapter, the answer is to buy the 2-chip adapter. The one in your photo has just one chip.

Anemos' adapter has a different connector. Guess that's what makes the difference whether you have to use the inner or outer pad. |
