GameBase Amiga boxscans & music

Could someone please upload those two files somewhere (or split them up and post at or similar). At the moment I don't have a broadband so I can't use BitTorrent to get them but I could download them without any P2P programs at work and get them that way.

The links are here : http://gbamiga.elowar.com/

Thanks!

Isnt Gamebase Amiga almost the same as Lemonade? Seems like a collaboration is required.

No bad idea there, I'll put them up with some mass hoster tonight and post the links on the website and post again here. I don't have time to do it right now though, so you'll have to be patient for a bunch of hours.

Dunno about shutting down, but sharing of databases would be cool. Perhaps coming up with an automated technique of transferring data from one to another.

No problem in waiting, I get to downloading them tomorrow or later anyway.

By the way, do you know why ClrMame Pro (v3.83c) doesn't find any of the games when I scan my adf's using the datfile from your site? RomCenter appears to find them but I'd much rather use CMP as I'm quite used to dealing with it regarding MAME roms. The program always says that the rompath doesn't contain any valid sets. I've got all the TOSEC'd adf's I think.

Thanks a lot!

Amiga Base is by far more ambitious as you can get all hol and lemonamiga info (in theory as database is not yet as complete) + full docs, cheats, solutions and music

Exclamation two topics

If there is going to be more discussion on the subject of Lemonade compared with GameBase Amiga then somebody should probably start a new thread for that as it's definitely not on-topic in this one. Just a suggestion.

no i do not want to be polemic sorry but i can't stand this kind of stupid and untrue statements ...before making a judgement, give yourself a chance to get an honest opinion. infact i'm using all of them HOL, Amiga Base,Lemonade...so no preference at all, each one has its own up&downs and they all disserve to co-exist

*cough*

Can anybody help me with this one? Or how have you rebuilt the sets for using with GameBase?

Are you pointing to folders with more folders inside them?

I really can't see why this doesnt work for you without more information.

If you would like you could join the IRC chan on:

/server irc.abime.net (port 6667)
/join #mage

If a few of us are there we may be able to help...

Question rich in hosty goodness... or is it?

Well, I just tried downloading those files I put up and it seems like you don't always get direct downloads with that host and for the P2P ones you need some client which is probably fishy.

At any rate, I split up the files and put them up somewhere else.

Music:
Boxscans:
Hope this works better. Have fun.

I simply started ClrMame Pro, loaded the datfile in the profiler to create the database, then pointed the ROMS dir to the one that contains all the adf's. When I try to scan, the program says that I don't have any valid sets in the folder. Which is really weird..

Roll eyes (sarcastic) scanning and rebuilding

What you want is the Rebuilder, not the Scanner. You have to rebuild before the Scanner will find anything (and let you create Have/Miss lists, FixDats and the like). You have to tick Zip Files for the results to work with GameBase Amiga and do yourself a favor and don't tick Recompress Files, it takes forever.

Hope this helps.

A-ha, of course since they are just adf's, not sets. Thanks, I'll give it a go right away. Thank you also for the files, just got all of them

Yup, that was the problem here. I've been planning on having a retro Saturday with a load of beer on the 25th so I'll have to get everything ready to play the classics as much as possible

Thanks for the help!
