played SWB in ML ? your sprite is like an anchor, horrible to play with, and
KG is the same veins, plays like an ST game.

KG looks/plays 8-bitish, the most people can see it. But to be objective is not easy for everyone.

Tsk, RD may be simple, but it has great playablitiy. I haven't tried enough KG to judge, but checking out both of them in HOL, KG2 has nice graphics compared to the first.

In the end it's a pointless discussion. You might like one more than the other, or you might like both. It's all good.

Hehe, I wondered when someone was going to bring that up.

So, should we meet up so I can play with you enough to form an opinion? I'm bringing my razor.

But I'm sure AP had already lined up the first couple of games to be given away by that stage, it would be suicidal not to have any freebies then make a claim like "a free game every month". So they probably knew Kid Gloves would be in the mix...

Rick Dangerous is a rancid pile of shit and always has been. It's just a pointlessly-complicated version of Simon. This is why they get people who know what they're talking about to write magazines, instead of some random chumps off of forums...
Well 90% of EAB'ers disagree with you there Stuart, so that is simply incorrect. The poll is on 68 to 8 at the moment! If you check out "fellow professional reviewers" you will see the Rick Dangerous reviews are mostly in the 80% range and Kid Gloves reviews are mostly in the 70% block. If you take away Amiga Power, the lowest Rick D review is 70%. The only mag to give Kid Gloves 80% or higher was Zero who gave almost everything 75% anyway so that can be taken with a grain of salt

I think I'll standby my initial comments and agree with the majority here and say that Rick D kicks Kid Gloves butt!

Eh? That's like saying whatever's top of the music charts is currently the best song around, as it's sold more copies than anything else...

Not so, we are looking back with more than 10 years hindsight after the games were released...

So a poll of 76 EAB members' opinions proves beyond doubt that Rick Dangerous is a better game? Right...

Not nessasarily, but neither does the opinion of one Stuart Campbell prove otherwise.

Well no, but the only thing the poll proves it that RD is unquestionably more popular. It doesn't prove that RD is a good or bad game, or that KG is a good or bad game. That was the point I was trying to make.

It doesn't prove it in a mathematical way, I agree with you, but then you could also _never_ say that a game is bad and another one is good.

IMHO, if 71 people voted for RD and just 8 for KG (Kid Gloves, not KillerGorilla ), does not only mean that RD is more popular, but that all in all the community recognizes it as a better game.

If S.Campbell and a (very) few others like KG better, that's fine...
