You'll have to change the main character's name of course, or the next game you'll be playing is Intellectual Property Lawyer.

Coming soon from GHD Productions: Rob Hazardous and the Iguanas Of Time!
Intellectual Property Lawyer is a scenario that hasn't interested me much since 1987, so worrying about all that malarkey now is possibly not worth the effort

Rick Dangerous it will stay

As a point of interest in this long-dormant thread, Kid Gloves was put on the AP2 coverdisk because we loved it. It wasn't put in the chart because it was on the coverdisk - that would have been tricky, since the first All-Time Top 100 came out two months before AP2, in AP Issue Zero.

Rick Dangerous is a rancid pile of shit and always has been. It's just a pointlessly-complicated version of Simon. This is why they get people who know what they're talking about to write magazines, instead of some random chumps off of forums...

Um, that's because the collision detection is in fact incredibly accurate. The game is from the Manic Miner school of design, where being one pixel off can get you killed. So I guess Manic Miner must be shit too...

This is one of the funniest statements i've ever heard. Especially the english game magazines had not enough competent reviewers. I really doubt that a lot of them ever known what they were writing about. Far to much games got ratings over 90 %, compared to the more critical reviews in german mags.

Kid Gloves is a typical 50-60 % game, nothing special to remember.

If you don't know what you're talking about, yes.

i own both games. Kid gloves is playing like a shitty ST game. while RD is great
on all sides. You even have to take some notes about the traps on how you can
get thru them. Nahh let this KG thrown up in the bin. utter shit me say !

But RD is a glorified memory test. There's no skill involved whatsoever, it's pure trial and error. Personally I just cannot see the fun in that. At least with KG it does require skill to get through it, and if you make a mistake it's your fault (Stuart mentioned Manic Miner - one of the reasons why it's so good is because you know the game is never at fault if you cock it up, you've only got yourself to blame).

EDIT: Just realised I said both games were rubbish in my first post in this thread - must have been in a bad mood that day, don't think KG is rubbish at all really, it's a pretty solid game.
