I wonder what could have really happened had they managed the buy-out. It seems that there were solid manufacturing approaches, as well as strong market approaches, in place, which could have seen a new product released very quickly.

If that were the case, then what would it have done to the likes of Sony Playstation and MS XBox? Would Sony and MS have considered entering the console arena if DP & Co had released both a new, RISC-based home computer, and an equivalent console approach? Would Linux have taken off the way it did if there was still an Amiga taking up a chunk of the market?

Shame we'll never know.....

Considering the PSX came out in 1995, I'd say Sony were already entering the market, and a new Risc based Amiga wouldn't have changed that!

Well if they had the 50 m. $ they could relaunch the Amiga. What I have seen after 1994 was absolutely pathetic whoever was the owner. In all shops people were giving advice not to buy an Amiga because its dead, and follow the dos way or buy a psx

To be fair and honest they were correct. Who would sink their hard earned money into a company that has filed for bankruptcy, and is in the process of being purchased. Let's be honest about where Commodore and the Amiga was. Life is full of "if this happened, then what?" type questions.

If commodore had been managed better where would we be?
If Amiga had been a success outside of Europe where would we be?

I am not that impressed... the old known veterans what have they really managed expecially after they left Commodore. If you read them they are the best... but where are the successes? Another example is Petro Tyschtschenko (Commodore Deutschland)

I think Pleasance was set for life even before taking over Commodore UK. And under his helm Commodore UK was a success story for as long as possible considering what they had to work with, IMO.

That's enough resume in my book. Escom on the other hand, not so much.
