WTB: CD32/A4000 to PS2 Keyboard Adapter

Im in the states.

Anyone have one for lesser than they are being exploited on ebay for or so they would like to part with.

The idea I have is using a logitech wireless keyboard perhaps with my cd32. The PS2 type of course.

errmmm I am not sure if thats what your looking for...

cd32 uses a proprietary 6 pin interface thats combined with a simple (butchered) serial port.

the A4000 uses a 6 pin mini din connector. (similar to PS2 but PS2 although a 6 pin mini din, also uses a different protocol / logic)

what are you plugging the devices into ?

zetro, didnt paul confirm it works.

The logic controller converts the pc signals to the amiga correct. So that is in fact what I would need I would think.

Now im confused.

perhaps on an Amiga 4000, but the CD32 is a completely different pin out i am afraid to say.

Looking at the CD32 port pinout and the A4000 6 pin mini din, the Keyboard signals are in the right place so yes you could use the dongle...

my apologies for the added confusion, I honestly thought the cd32 port was different that the a4000

(which al though is, it has the same keyboard pinout placement.)

The CDTV is the one with a non-standard keyboard.

It must have a CDTV keyboard or an "active" adapter dongle.

The CD32 AUX port is the standard A4k keyboard connector but it also carries a serial port. Always handy for linking up to another Amiga.

My cd32 is in route.

When i get a chance to look at the back there is a keyboard port and aux port? I thought one was to use it as a serial cdrom for an amiga computer.

It looks like this adapter is gonna run 40 bucks anyway i spin it ....unless a nice soul has one lying around and judging from the peeps on this board. You guys have a lot of migs in the closet.

Afterall Eurpope was ruled by the Amiga in the day. As you can see the ratios of amiga stuff on ebay and others is slim pickins in the US

If you are modding a 15kHz VGA or RGB Scart, then i would suggest you use an 8703 OpAmp to boost the signals as they are quite weak from the reports i have read, on top of which the SVideo connector puts a high draw on the signal too.

got my cd32 today. quite impressed with the condition. It still has the plastic on the cd lens as well as the amiga cd32 logo....It looks beautiful on my sammy 50" dlp. ran the audio direct to a panny digital ht receiver.

Meanwhile...the amiga cd32 tosec is anything but lost

I sure would like that floppy drive from the institute but I really dont want to pay a mint for it.

Ah, IMO a CD32 is the best machine for playing most Amiga games - could do with a few upgrades (Zetr0?) but there are those nice 444, 888 compilations etc...

So i didnt purchase a keyboard translator. I thought about it and the pros/cons

For what 1200s go for around here in the US, i had a decision to make.

So its no sx32-pro but I stayed up all night to beat the clock on an sx-1 from the UK. Reputable seller ...early bird gets the worm. If you dont factor shipping worked out to be 160 USD. Bid with 9 secs left

Now when zetr0 makes our trapdoor expansion, I can sell it for more than I paid for it... I call it renting a little bito retro history.

Zert0? How are we coming along now ( I hear its your Feb-Mar project) Im giving you the benefit of the doubt with March there, I think youll do it sooner.

My only regret is I didnt get my retro on sooner....as there was a cd32 sx1 combo in maine, usa for 229 or so.

I suppose I will need a cheap external floppy now. Hmm.

I've got one of those for my CD32, bought it from new (Yep, I bought my CD32 and SX-1 when it was for sale in the shops, and I still have them both). Make sure you put the CD32 (and SX-1) on a flat surface when you use it though (Not on the carpet, I generally use a large hardback book if I have to have it on the floor) otherwise the connection between the SX-1 and the CD32 is quite bad and it doesn;t work properly (or at all sometimes)

I have hardwood floors so I dont think that will be an issue. I will probally get some kind of miniture static mat for it though. Its an odd ball config. But hey its gonna be in a rack under my 50" sammy in the game room sooo I think it will do just fine.

Whats the max ram module avalable for the sx-1?
I have som 64mb edo 72 sims in a cup upstairs. No Workie?

I think it can take up to 8MB of RAM

Can only take 4MB if you have the FMV module installed as well though
