I wonder how Melnok did this; he actually put his trainer on both disk 1 & 2, which is perfect.

If someone is going to put a trainer on the Flashtro release and can't fit on both disks then probably best to stick on disk 1. You can boot, select trainer options, watch the cool intro (which can be skipped anyway) and then the game continues on disk 2 without a need to reset etc...
Sorry, not going to do that. If Flashtro go that far, fair play, but in reality, there really is no stress to the setup now.

Its great disk 1 is done, but in reality, it will be booted up once or twice and thats it, no one is going to force themselves to watch the intro when they can boot up disk 2.

Hi guys, i would want to add a very special thanks to everyone here who did the necessary to make this new proper crack be a reality ! Musashi9 sent me the ADF for the 25th of december in my EAB box, what a surprise !

Quote:
Disk 1:
The Melnok one (fixed by Galahad) plays at exactly the same speed as the .IPF
Only problem for me is that the trainer requires arrow keys (my default when not using a joystick is "Keyboard Layout B"), it should be mouse controlled.
The problem in the Melnok version was the toggling sound filter that ruined the music, the first fix corrected the music speed but not the filter.

Now we more over have a trained cracked version, just wonderfull. I wrote the disc 1 on a floppy and for the very first time i can hear the intro music at a correct speed without any issue WITH the game title on my big CRT TV lol. Just so great, thanks a lot ! We say here that "La patience est la mère des vertues", confirmed proverb.

And now... A certain never-cracked-game from Rainbow Arts is waiting for you Phil (i closed my facebook now but you know what i mean).

Damn i still remember when i started the thread, it was another life for me ah ah ah, maaaany years ago lol.

This year was prolific for retrogaming, and this new one starts wonderfully with "More! Lemmings".

Thanks to all guys involved into Amiga, i don't have the knowledge to crack games but i often have good ideas to propose stuffs ah ah ah...

Just noticed that you told me to elaborate about the Melnok version trouble. The disc requester routine toggles endlessly the sound filter, it screws up totally the wonderfull intro music (1 second with filter ON, 1 second with filter OFF). As a consequence this version couldn't be acceptable without a sound filter fix. The dream situation was "A/ A proper Flashtro disc 1" (cf my previous summury) and it's what we all have now.

I have encountered some sound glitches in the flashtro intro disk that the skid row crack does not have (apart from the wrong speed). I have tried this in WINUAE and also on a real Amiga. Both times there are the slight glitches in the music of the intro disk.
It seems I am the only one who has this problem ??

I haven't noticed via WinUAE.

What and when roughly do these sound glitches occur so that I can check again?

About 100 - 120 seconds after the beginning of the music

Just did the following via WinUAE:

a) Loaded / watched the "Killing Game Show, The (1990)(Psygnosis)(Disk 1 of 2)(Intro)[cr Flashtro].adf".
b) Loaded / watched the "Killing Game Show, The (1990)(Psygnosis)(Disk 1 of 2).ipf".
c) Loaded / watched the "Killing Game Show, The (1990)(Psygnosis)(Disk 1 of 2)(Intro)[cr Flashtro].adf".

Yup, see what you mean... Don't know how to describe, like a record jumping, it's only slight and occurs when "The Killing Game Show" is shown (not the 1st instance, after the eye, then text again) and music is playing.

The guy says "What Time Is It" and that's when you hear these small glitches. Definitely not there in the .IPFs

Intro

I have downloaded and tried it yesterday. I have noticed no glitches anymore so it should be perfect.

Back in London now and tested this new disk; all is working with the intro / sound

...but there is an issue. Now if I watch the intro on disk 1, after inserting disk 2 and starting to play the music / sound fx is massively messed up / scratched record etc...

If I boot disk 2 by itself this doesn't happen.

Can anyone else confirm?

Ignore the above; I worked out what caused the issue... Setting floppy drive emulation speed above normal

Sorry all, move along nothing to see
