Opening up a CDTV case

So my A500 finally died on me yesterday, after being in the family for 21 years. I was thinking about using my CDTV instead for now, but from what I've seen, it is not 100% compatible with the A500. I read that there's a jumper you can set in the CDTV to disable the CDTV ROMs/CD drive and make it a true A500. However, as ridiculous as it may sound, I can't even get the CDTV case open (it has never been opened, warranty sticker is still there). There are two small screws on the back that have to be removed so that the case can be opened up. I don't seem to be able to turn them even one milimeter though. Is there a special trick to this, or has anyone else encountered that problem? Thanks!

Insert the right sized screw driver firmly and turn them clockwise (DONT SLIP). As soon as they click and tighten a little more, they should then turn Anti-Clockwise without trouble.

Get this alot with Panasonic VCR head earthing screws. You could also try applying alot of pressure to the screw and at the same time turn the screwdriver with a pair of pliers.

I just tried that but I can't seem to get it to work, I'm probably too weak to apply the right amount of pressure ;)

I had similar problems, most of those little black screws on the back side were stuck, screwdriver with (very) big handle helped.

I found my case a bugger to undo as well. You just need purchasing power - either a big handle or a pair of grips on the screwdriver blade.

Just in case you get sorted out - I thought I'd attach the instructions for fitting a switch to disable - enable the CD drive.
