I found this demo on youtube, but I have a hard time believing this is al Amiga generated. What do you think?

I know there are a lot of versions of the bad apple demo, but the question is, is the one I posted really made on a amiga?

hmm, resolution is slow and show pixels but that background might be simply genlocked, not generated

Sorry, there is NO way that's Amiga, unless, as some say, it's genlocked.

It's not genlocked. The background has obviously been added in a video editor.

I've seen a few of the Bad Apple demos on several platforms, and they look better without a fancy background. That's how the original pop video itself was, as I recall.

At first sight I thought that the resolution was too high for an Amiga...
But after seeing that this demo exists for the C64

and the PICO-8

I changed my mind.

@chip, do you have the floppy or HD version of this demo ?
If yes, please, put it in the zone.

works on unexpanded Atari 400 with 16k RAM or higher machine
works on both PAL and NTSC machines, PAL recommended
only uses passive ROMs and standard tapes, no external CPU, microcontroller etc.
384 x 232 pixels, full overscan display
50 frames per second, dynamically adapted on NTSC
real voice audio from the "educational soft" left tape channel
additional intro and outro part resulting in 5:35 total runtime
177 MB of raw video compressed to 41 MB of video using unique ANTIC hardware compression
29 MB uncompressed 16-bit PCM audio recorded on the tape

Pouet.net indicates there IS no Amiga version of Bad Apple, in neither OCS/ECS nor AGA, but I wonder why.

And yet the Amiga can play host to this:

Just because it isn't on Pouet doesn't mean it doesn't exist. People outside of the demoscene also do things on the Amiga.

No, but you'd think they'd be keen to show off their prods, and Pouet.net is the best way to find them (IMHO).

Pouet might be the best way to find demos, but a Bad Apple conversion isn't necessarily demoscene related in any way.

+1. Also prefer the song in Japanese (UK voice is shrilly - at least for my ears).

I learn english.

Hello all,

It's not code. It's a old test version just for fun. Viewtek is used on WinUae in Full CE mode for streaming and a sound player too. Verified only on real A600 + vampire because i forgot to tell the tester to activate an option with Viewtek on standard machine and the result was catastrophic. But i have a doubt for the real HD/CF timing.

In 2017 on the French forums, I looked for (without finding) a coder who could create a player (direct to disk) for my animation with sound. Without success... I abandonned.

I have many versions.

Anim5 1Bit + sound
Anim5 4bits + sound (presented version)
Anim5 4bits Multiplexed with Fantasia. +- 54 Mo
Anim8

Source is a youtube video. VirtualDub is used for extract 3569 6569 (thanks you ross ) TIFF pictures and sound. Converted in IFF 24 bits with XnConvert (PC) and also tested conversion directly with ADPro and loaded all pictures in Brilliance 2.0 (under WinUae+JIT of course) for create animation. Reduced in 4bits.

Sound is converted with Wav2Amiga.

Thanks for the specs.

I've probably somewhere the frames in vectorized format.
Sure a fill routine for the 1 bit format can be easily made, some dither/gray effect added and an ADPCM player used, so a version for a vanilla A1200 can be made
(with also various special effects that I have in mind ).

Real problem is how to stream it: or from fastmem or a proper DMA device...

EDIT: found, ~6500 frames in svg format, so resolution can be easily adapted to any screen resolution
EDIT2: ah, found also that for some reason I've also the original japanese tune encoded in IMA ADPCM
