Simplemail 8000 000B error

Hi!

Today I've installed on my Amiga 1200 (60820 + ELBOX 1200/4 with NO fpu installed) Simplemail, and like all last betas of AWEB, I always get a #8000000B error, so AMIGA OS (I use AMIGA OS 3.5 with Boingbag 2a installed). Actually, I don't know why this problem appears. As far as I know, a 8000 000B error is FPU related... but also I think none of those apps requires FPU...

Any help from here? I have tried to find this errors here or around the net, but I didn't find anything.

Regards,

Salva

I have seen that it can be a NListtree.mcc related error, because I get the same error when I try to change NListtree options on MUI prefs...

Hi,

Not much help but I get the exact same behaviour with the latest Aweb/Simplemail builds (and the MUI option) but have had no luck in solving it I dont know ifs related to MUI only though since Aweb doesnt use it..Im using a 030 with no FPU and it happens with both 3.1 and 3.9 so dont think its OS related...

Hooooo

Well, the following is only a vague assumption...

my reference book says $0000000B is an error in line F emulation, opcode 1111. Apparently a line F emulator is for the emulation of an FPU co-processor.

BUT this is for a guru number starting with a 0!

It appears to be a combination (logical OR) of $0000000B and $80000000, the latter of which means DEADEND_ALERT (a zero at the beginning stands for alert type RECOVERY_ALERT).

[edit] quick google also confirmed this:
Quote:
when a program tries to execute a FPU instruction on a processor without a FPU, or there is a problem with the 68040/060 library.
8000000B Line F emulation error
http://web.archive.org/web/200708201...cucd/info.html

It clearly looks like a library problem!

Here's a 1999 ML post regarding a similar issue:
http://mail-index.netbsd.org/port-am...3/21/0003.html

In case you need this again, this post is great, as it lists all common gurus:

Thanks very much , now I must select between 2 options: a) try to find what library is generating the problem or b) get a 68882 and put it (I must to know why) in the correct position on the Elbox 1200/4 card ^-^

Also, I changed guifx.library to the "no fpu" version... http://igame.amigahellas.gr/files/gu...nder_nofpu.lha to avoid this problem with Igame...
