acard 7720u with amiga scsi-kit
hello,
I'm searching users with scsi-kit and using also SCSIDE bridge like SCSI Bridge acard 7720U on their amiga. Just to know if all work well before buying one of them with a big new HD IDE SCSIDE ACARD 7720U is a SCSIDE for using an IDE ATA100 HD with a SCSIKIT (SCSI2) for informations. the same exist with SCSI3 (68 pins) and also with SATA. LAST minute question BTW, The SCSI for blizzardPPC+ is SCSI2 (50 pins) or SCSI3 (68pins) ????? Bye |

You can use both 68 and 50 pins version with a Blizzard PPC SCSI controller, however in order to use the 68 pins version you will need an adaptor and yet another cable, so just get the 50 pins one.
I use both types, and they work very well. 2 on my A1200 with Blizzard PPC and 3 with my A4000 and CyberStormPPC. |

If you can answer about the speed of the DVD burning, It coul dbe also usefull for me sorry if my english is sometime strange |

I haven't tried to burn a DVD with my setup, since I haven't been bothered to mount my DVD drives in the computer. Around winter next year I'm going to get a new tower for the computer, and I will be adding DVD-RW drives to the system; I'm guessing you can't wait that long, so you just need to try it out, unless someone else has the answer.
However, I currently have 2 x CD-RW drive connected to ACard bridges, and I can burn a 600 MB from ISO in 2-3 minutes IIRC (been a long time since I did it). However, this is on a A4000 with CyberStormPPC 060/233 and UWSCSI controller. The A1200 is limited compared to the A4000, but nevertheless the performance should be much better than when using a IDE controller. |

hello
a guy in a ML answer me also for this question. he said he could use his dvdrw+scside as cd and cdrw writer with makecd but not trying to use frying pan (with his cyberstormPPC and uwscsi and his hypertech acard like bridge (seemed to 100% same hardware). but I'm untill now not found same answer just with 1260 and scsikit (for the scsi2 controler 5mo/s max) and found none answer who arrive to burn DVDRW with scside bridge. thanks for answering again. |

I used an Acard with B1260 + SCSI kit without any problems as well , so the Acard also work with your controller. As for burning DVDs, it's just a matter of trying it out yourself.
