Who Else Needs an Amiga Repair Shop
Hello there my fellow amigans,
Now i am sure, like perhaps a few of you, that you have hardware that requires to be tested and or repaired. I personally have a *few* of items that require both testing and repairing. ------------------------------------------------ To Test: A3640 (commodores very own) (Wont boot, black screen, after disabling map rom = red screen of death) To Repair: Phase 5 68060 @ 50 card ( wont boot *black screen* looks like a miniscule battery leak just touching an IC) Test and possible repair: Fast Lane Z3 ( only ID shows *bios flashed to wrong IC version* no mem count IC's need replacing or bios reset, or could be F'd in the A ) ------------------------------------------------ I am sure i have other hardware that requires repair, but alas i have googled for ages, and i cannot seem to find some one whom can repair and or test amiga equipment. So here i ask in my native forum to see if there are (A) other's like me with equipment that needs help and (B) if there is any help out there, and how secure and reliable it is etc... any ideas my fellow amiga chums? |

As with ALL repair workshop questions the cost of SAFE POSTAGE, HANDLING & RETURN has always been a negative influence on the continued existance of NON- STANDARD part repairs.
This influences the turn around time even IF a repair is possible, so unless this board has a SAINT who doesn't mind being hasled over questions like " how MUCH ? & WHERE IS IT ? " then we would need to form some kind of skills pool of people who can handle individual special areas of repair knoledge. I certainly don't want to be too negative, but I don't want volanteers thinking they have to handle EVERYTHING |

In the US repairs shops for anything electronic are a dying breed. All we have is service places that fix new equipment under warrenty (parts swapping) for the major brands. Anything out of warrenty is just thrown away.

Amiga Center in France is a good bet. I know they don't speak fluent English but communication wasn't a problem when I emailed them and phoned JJ. I sent my A4KT mobo to them and had both CIAs socketed. They did a good job and I would use them again.
