Keyboard input lag with other programs

There seems to be some keyboard input "lag" when using other programs, when WinUAE is running and you press F12 to open the settings window. For example, typing into a message field in the Firefox web browser.

It could be that the lag is more noticeable when sound emulation is enabled. Or perhaps I'm just imagining that? WinUAE does still receive raw input messages in that state (running it with -inputlog 1 shows key codes in the log window as you type in another program). Would it be possible to stop listening to (raw) keyboard input when the settings window is open?

I haven't noticed anything. I can't stop rawinput, it was removed recently because it only caused problems. (Rawinput register/unregister API is also too weird)

But I can stop parsing and handling the raw input data when GUI is active (and not in test/remap mode).

I guess that might help. Keyboard lag could have been more noticeable when I was using -log -inputlog 1 argument since every key event causes output to the log window then. Or perhaps having sound playing was the cause of lag (though it happened with the setting window open).
