Maybe you had the same problem I did - too used to CLI meaning Command Line Interface to spot it!

¡HOLA COMPAÑERO!
also a nice WB Akira from me, my "favorite enemy"

So obviously ... there IS life in the old dog yet

So let's keep the mystery alive - way to go! :P
("mystery" does not refer to Akira but to the Tetris game, mind you )

C'mon Akira ... Let us know the score with this guess. It sounds close.

Would be really cool to solve this long running mystery

Thought I'd look through my TOSEC + Non-TOSEC collection for games that sounded Tetris / Twintris like (minus games listed in Akira's post #154). Tried these ones but unfortunately they turned out to be nothing like the description

... Atomic Tetris
... Giger-Tetris (1993)(Panic Production)(AGA)(PD)
... Ultimate Gameboy Simulator, The - Tetris (1992)(Symbiosis)(PD)

These ones sounded promising but couldn't get them to load:

... Tetras v1.05 (1997)(Esposito, Emiiano)(PD) {except for the date part}
... Tetriz v1.3 (1991)(Vigdal, Edgar)(PD)[h ALE]

Is CLI-Tris is the one?! - I'm getting quite moist with anticipation.

You certainly must miss me. Who do you fight with today?
I am not old, I am at my best point!

Well, Cli-T(o? ahaha)RIS is NOT it. Not even close!
So I will add it to the list.

Thanks for the interest. Let's resolve this mistery!

I just want my Tetris.

READ THIS FIRST
Games that ARE NOT the one we are looking for (updated 06NOV2007)

- Amiga Tetris (Infogrames)
- Amiga Tetris 2
- Atomic Tetris
- Avatris
- Cigar tetris (2000 A.D.)
- CLI-tris
- Coloris
- Digital Tetris
- Ditris
- Duotris
- Facestris III
- Final Tetris (megademo part)
- Giger-Tetris (1993)(Panic Production)(AGA)(PD)
- Mirrorsoft's Tetris
- Power Tetris
- Project T
- ProTris v1.0 (1993)(Mirage)
- Spectrum Holobyte's Tetris
(but I heard there are two versions of this, one very rare. Haven't seen the second one yet)
- Speed Tris
- Super Caztri
- Super Tetris
- Super Twintris
- Tetras v1.05 (1997)(Esposito, Emiiano)(PD)
- Tetren (PD, post 1990)
- Tetris
- Tetris (Gary Wheatly)
- Tetrix
- Tetris +
- Tetris III
- Tetris Metallica
- Tetris Pro
- Tetris the Next Generation
- Tetriz v1.3 (1991)(Vigdal, Edgar)(PD)[h ALE]
- Tetrys 95 (1995)(Crayon X)(AGA)(Fr)
- The Last Tetris
- Tritus
- Twintris
- Ultimate Gameboy Simulator, The - Tetris (1992)(Symbiosis)(PD)
- Welltris
- Zaxk

*The looks of the game we look for are exact or almost exact to those of Atari Tetris.

*The game is not part of a demo, it's a standalone game

*The scrolling down of the tetris blocks is smooth, like in SNES's Tetris Bombliss. The demopart posted by KnucklesD hops from position to position, just like the arcade game. The game we look for one-upped the arcade game in that respect.

*The music was more uptempo than the original arcade tetris music. It had no vocal samples, but it had a more " techy"/electronic feel to it. Think of the year 1992, 2Unlimited sort of cheesy thang.

*It was featured in an argentinian TV show dedicated mostly to the Amiga. Show in question was called "El Cerebro Magico"and it aired at Channel 2 from La Plata around 1990/92. They had compos for this game, and there's a slight chance this is an argentinian developed game (far fetched, but I'm beginning to think so!)

We're looking for any leads. So far 2 guys in here have a slight memory of having played it or seen it. It would be most helpful to grab footage from this TV show, as to prove the existance of the game and better consistent evidnce (games were shown full-screen on gameplay when they ran the compos)

WE ARE OFFERING A REWARD FOR THE LOCATION OF THIS GAME

OK this is the deal.

This game has been looked for in here for SEVENTY TWO MONTHS already.
Either you all are pretty lame or this is very fucking obscur :P

The wage for finding this game will be of ONE DOLLAR per MONTH MISSING since the request started at EAB. Additional information on the game will be paid for, but differently (screenshots, magazine shots, and specially, a video of the TV show in question)

So we're up to 72 US dollars so far.

Let the quest continue.

Do we have a winner then?? Somehow, I think not... this thread is madness... no, it's cursed... This bloody Tetris game will never surface.
(nice to see you back here Akira, even if it's just for the cursed Tetris)

I'm looking at the second page of AF issue 88 (Sep96). The CD I was referring to earlier was called "Nothing but Tetris" and contains (according to the description) almost 100 variations of the game. Anyone got this?

I don't actually have this CD plus unable to find it in the "usual" places but here's somebody comments regarding the content:

Quote:
I was disappointed to find out that we pretty much had all the tetris's that were on the CD. In fact the CD says that the contents of the CD were previously released on Public Domain. What would of been worthwhile is if the games on the CD were not shareware but the full games.

The CD cost me $15.00 USD and we did get like 8 games that we didn't see on Aminet, so that's something anyway. There's about 70 tetris's for the Amiga on the CD, and I'm not sure about how many different Tetris's for the PC are on the CD.
