one picture states "... for entertaining ... only". well, so why do you call it fake?
bartek teamed-up with them. so he might be involved in creating some kind of design for a posible desktop solution. nothing to take too seriously, for sure. but at least something new on their board. |

If anyone is a member of the dev team, they can get more details on this: There is a thread in the dev section of the Natami forum titled "68070-alpha Is Running At 55 Mhz".

Has the Amiga bug again
|
Just looked at the NATAMI forum to see the post about a new tab. How exciting! An area where the team can discuss things but ordinary users can only see the topic titles. Is it me or is that one of the most idiotic things you've ever seen? It is either private or it isn't. It will just get people posting in the 'non-private' areas... "What do you think '68070-alpha Is Running At 55 Mhz' means? Is NATAMI about to be released?!?!?"

Is this Natami concept for real? Not the picture, the whole project i'm referring to.
Do they really think they can produce a sub $100 machine that will still maintain backwards compatibility? Got to say if they can, i'm more than a little impressed. |

Of course they can, just ask their spokesman Big Gun, he'll tell you how easy everything is. Muahahah

I believe the engineering work by Thomas Hirsch is real.
They cannot. Not using FPGA technology. |

There's a software simulation of their 3D core available at the site. I'd say there's a substantial amount of work done there until someone disassembles it and proves otherwise.

They admit it is not a (hardware) simulation. There is no 3D hardware defined. It's nothing but a poor software render demo.

Maybe I used the wrong wording. I realize there's no simulation of any electronics. What I'm saying is that with a software renderer produced that supposedly takes aspects of the design they have in mind into account (as opposed to just grabbing some open source software renderer and slapping a demo together) there's clearly more to the project than just hot air, the latter seemingly being the general opinion of the thread.
As long as work is being done I'd say the Natami is going somewhere. |

The software engineers got bored of waiting for the hardware and just went off at a tangent into something they knew about is my understanding...

Thats an amazing creation! O_O
I love the memory card reader and USB slots on the top. Mmm I wonder how hard it would be to convert this guys 3D model into a nice case for me using my CNC router... |
