WinUAE on Arcade Monitor at 15kHz
Hello all,
I am running WinUAE on an 15kHz arcade monitor using WinXP and the Soft15kHz patch. In WinUAE I am using the resolution 640x288. The problem is: In horizontal scrolling games (like Silkworm) there are vertical tearing lines every 1 cm. In vertical games (e.g. Hybris) there are horizontal lines every 1 cm. I tried several different settings but could not get rid of it. Any Ideas? Thank you for your help |

What refresh rate are you using? Do you have vsync turned on?

Make sure no scaling is enabled, for example: hires, no doubling, no scaling in filter panel.
btw, 640x288 is quite weird resolution, 640 is non-overscan, 288 is overscan. |

I am using default refresh rate, no buffering and fullscree+AutoVsync.
But I tried almost all combinations of settings with no success. I also noticed that there are horizontal lines in static (non scrolling) screens. It looks like one line is displayed twice every centimeter. Toni, I am not using scaling. I need a 288 resolution to get 50Hz. In 640x288 it looks pixel perfect, if there would be no tearing. This means something is scaling the display using non-integer scaling ratio. If WinUAE is not scaling, then it probably is your display driver setting.

I don't know if it is a driver problem, since it only occurs in WinUAE.
All other emulators run fine. |

Hmm. Check that it does not say "FS" in filter panel scaling multiplier boxes.
Try using windowed mode, WinUAE is still scaling if Amiga screen size changes when you adjust main window size. |

I am stupid.
In the filter settings I left one pull-down menu to default. Now I checked and it should have been set to "no scaling" as you mentioned before. Now everything runs great and looks awesome on an low-resolution arcade monitor. Toni, sorry for bothering and thanks for helping. |

Any clue how to avoid these static vertical/horizontal lines with scaling enabled? A lot of games doesn't suffer from this issue, but Hybris and e.g. Universal Warriors. The bilinear filter soften it, but not completely.
