Can't change color depth or screen mode

Hi all!

I have problems changing color depth and screen modes in Workbench 3.1 using a A1200 config in WinUAE. When trying to change the mentioned I get a dialouge box saying "Intuition is attempting to reset the Workbench screen. Please close all windows, except drawers." It flickers like 5 times before the dialouge box just stays on the screen.

I have tried deleting the prefs files with no luck.

Thanks

Volt.

Use Exchange to view and close any running commodities that might be keeping the screen open, or just save it and reboot, and it'll be using your chosen settings when it boots back up.

You can bring up Exchange by hitting Right Amiga key + E, which opens an Execute Command prompt, and just type Exchange and it will load up, or navigate your way into the Tools/Commodities/ drawer to double-click on the icon. You might want to drop it in the WBStartup drawer so it's always running and can be brought up with the hotkey any time you want to close a hidden program or reveal its GUI.

That worked thanks.

I'm trying to setup the GUI Cammy has been doing on her A1200. But it's not going well at all.

I have installed VisualPrefs and Birdie2000 but the colors are really messed up. Do you know what could be the problem. Thanks.

And I'm not getting the fine top Bar. Actually it's just looking the same.

Okay, did you also download and load in my 16 colour palette into FullPalette, lock each pen, and save it?

Do you also have the skins copied to your Prefs/Presets/Skins/ drawer? If you don't have all this stuff, you can download them here:

FullPalette - http://home.exetel.com.au/amiga/FullPalette.prefs
Silver Skins - http://home.exetel.com.au/amiga/SilverSkin.lha

And make sure this is in your Startup-Sequence:

Run <>NIL: C:Birdie SYS:Prefs/Presets/Skins/SilverGreen/Active SYS:Prefs/Presets/Skins/SilverGreen/InActive ACTIVEPATTERN REDRAWBITMAPS PUBSCREENS NOICONBORDER FLOODMASKMWB

And some IBrowse images if you want them: http://home.exetel.com.au/~amiga/IBrowseImages.lha

Good luck, let me know how you get on.

I am a little lost in how to load in the 16 color palette into FullPalette. Can you explain me how to do that?

I think I got the palette thingie going now. Didn't know I had to download a program for that

VisualPrefs doesn't seem to load my bitmaps. They are all placed in different drawers in "HD0:Prefs/Presets/Skins/SilverGreen/"

ArrowDown
ArrowLeft
... etc

What can be wrong? Could it be because it's an evaluation copy I have?

Thanks

Volt.
