A604 & v1.3 mobo

Has anyone been able to use the A604 chip ram expansion board with A600 mobo version 1.3? I got one together with Indivision ECS but the card refuses to work with a 1.3 mobo; The same card works well in a 1.5 mobo.

The Amiga hangs during the boot check. After several attempts, it sometimes starts to boot but freezes soon after. Applying force on the plastic connector from above seems to make a difference, which leads me to believe it's a mechanical problem. I tried cleaning the card edge connector on the mobo with 99% alcohol but it made no difference.

The curious bit here is that the Amiga works perfectly fine with an Alpha Data 1 Mb chip ram expansion installed. The main difference between the A604 and the Alpha data is that the latter has a connector that fits much more snugly and tightly onto the board.

Has commodore used thinner boards in the 1.3 revision so that the A604 won't fit as well? And ultimately I am not sure if this issue is fixable on my side. Any ideas as to what I could do?

I can only confirm that boards are the same thickness. What would I do, maybe using soldering station applying thin level of soldering wire on connector to ensure connection.
