Largest memory module for Blizzard 1260 that fits properly
I have an Apollo a Blizzard 1260 board I bought some years ago that has a 128MB memory module. While it works, the memory was fastened with rubber bands to keep it falling out of the slot, and also meant the trapdoor couldn't be reattached (plus the need to keep my 1200 elevated above desk height since the RAM board stuck out below the system).
So... my question is do there exist any 128MB memory boards that fit the profile of the accelerator or am I destined to keep on replacing elastic bands as they perish? Last edited by DJ Mike; 09 October 2013 at 09:48. Reason: Fluff on the brain... Blizzard, not Apollo! |

Apollo cards are limited to max. 32MB (64MB), so you shouldn`t limited with 128MB memory modules. You just have to find one that fits on the card.

the card takes 32 mb simms, the card can have two slots for a maximum of 64mb total.(even though larger capacitys phisicly fit in the slot)
although the second slot will stop it from being used in a desktop 1200. get a 32 mb 72 pad edo 60ns simm. Last edited by roy bates; 08 October 2013 at 18:27. |

OK maybe I shouldn't write posts when half tired, lol
I in fact have a Blizzard board not an Apollo (I had some serious fluff on the brain when I wrote that). And to clarify, the board has had a 128MB memory module happily installed all this time, except that it has to be held in place with rubber bands to keep it from falling out, as the memory simm is too large to be clipped into the holder. So my question was simply is there a 128MB simm that is smaller in profile that would fit properly? |

To be honest looking round the net it does seem like the only 128MB boards that work are all too big and thus require fastening in place... think I need to invest in some plastic fasteners that won't perish like rubber bands do!

in that case you would be looking for a thinner simm.
does it really have to be 128mb's?,i suppose that depnds on what you want it for. they have come up for sale on amibay a few times, maybe opening a wanted thread there might help you. Last edited by roy bates; 09 October 2013 at 18:38. |

Thanks for the suggestions - have put in a thread at AmiBay in case somebody has one to sell. Will check out that site although annoyingly our work's filter has blocked it for the time being...
