Does the fix apply to the floppy AGA version only or is the AGA CD version affected as well ?

This bug only exists in the floppy AGA version of the game as far as I know. I'm not sure about the CD version though. I would be suprised if it was fixed in the CD version to be honest. More than likely they just did a straight copy of the files onto a CD. Also does this affect the German AGA version of the game? Again I'm not sure as I don't have a copy of this to check the file. Can someone with the German version/CD version check these?

No problem mate.
But I think Psygore should maybe include this file in his installer so it automatically replaces the old file if the AGA version is installed. What do you think Psygore?? |

Civilization_v1.1_2090.lha -> English OCS/ECS SPS 2090 version
Civilization_v1.1_AGA_1633.lha -> English AGA SPS 1633 version Civilization_v1.1_AGA_CD.lha -> English AGA CD-Rom version Civilization_v1.1_AGA_De.lha -> German AGA version Civilization_v1.1_CD.lha -> English OCS/ECS CD-Rom version Civilization_v1.1_De_0671.lha -> German OCS/ECS SPS 0671 version Other than that I don't know, I have never played any of them. |

Hehe cool. Been playing Civilization trying to meet the Germans and finally met them after two days of trying!
So I can confirm the new graphic file does actually work properly. |

Thanks Retroplay for the info.
I`ve to answer my own question about CivAGApatch because Psygore support it already with his install. Savegames for AGA and ECS version are not compatible. It seems that also problems between AGA only versions (eng<->ger) exists. |

Well I'm not so sure about the WHDLoad install. I have found so many bugs in it that I've stopped using it now. I played on WinUAE with JIT turned off and cycle exact so should be fine. However - buildings disappear on the city view screen, new sections of palace improvements are invisible when built and saving the game takes so long I thought it had gone into an endless loop. I have also had the game dump out on me a couple of times. Using a standard HD installed HDF version that I have, the game works perfectly so I'll just use that instead. I already added the new graphic file to my HDF so should be perfect.
I have uploaded my self booting Civilization HDF to the zone if anyone wants it. Last edited by Steve; 23 February 2013 at 13:33. |

I haven`t found any bugs until now but that might be change. Saving take about 2-3 seconds on A1200 040. At the moment I`m satisfied with the situation.

I`ve a problem playing CivilizationAGADe version. When I (Babylon) meet Indi there is a conversation screen and normaly you can choose answers. The first text seems to be ok but there isn`t further text including answering. I tried to choose with the cursor keys possible right answers but the result is always war. Someone noticed similar or can check this (save game in TheZone if somebody wants)?
TheZone doesn`t work here in the moment. Last edited by daxb; 09 March 2013 at 00:08. |

It seems that I found the problem. Retroplay, please can you check the archive(s) for corrupt files?
At least Civilization_v1.1_AGA_De.lha, because following files seem to be wrong: Code:
king.txt 8168 Not crunched/linked blurb0.txt 19038 Not crunched/linked blurb4.txt 7605 Not crunched/linked blurb1.txt 14517 Not crunched/linked |

I checked your archive. Seems you just replaced the mentioned files what are ByteKiller packed. Had to depack to let it work. I would recommend a new install so that all files are depacked while installing like the readme says. Thanks for you work Retroplay.

Better late than never eh! Anyway, I've uploaded my latest HDF of Civilization AGA for you. The files have been copied from the Engish IPF release of Civ and also contain my fixed graphic file. It runs perfectly using the latest WinUAE with no bugs or glitching. It will ask you a manual protection question every now and then but it's not a big deal. See this website for the answers: http://civilization.wikia.com/wiki/L...vances_in_Civ1 |

Interesting thread Steve
...and one that I missed when AWOL for 6 years Now the million dollar question is; how can we recrunch your "fixed" file located here and put this onto the "Civilization v855e.01 (1993)(MicroProse)(AGA)(Disk 3 of 4).adf"? ...or will it be fine copied back uncrunched? |

Checked "Civilization v855e.01 (1993)(MicroProse)(AGA)(Disk 3 of 4).adf" and their is ample space to copy across your fixed / uncrunched "KING12.LBM" file So, attached to this post. |
