How to get Deneb working

Ok, I installed my Deneb in my 4000T, installed poseidon 4.4. Now how to I get the device drivers to work so I can get my USB 8gb stick to work?

I run Trident in prefs and get the error Trident requires at least version 4.2 of poseidon.lib. I just installed Poseidon 4.4 and the version of Poseidon is 4.0. Do I have the wrong install of Poseidon 4.4?

Thanks!

Did you get it second-hand? If yes, then it probably loads Poseidon 4.0 from the flash ROM. Use Luciferin to clean or update the ROM.

Hi Mate,

It's all explained in the Deneb manual:

http://www.e3b.de/usb/soft/dnb_manual.pdf

Rescue jumper is for first time install, this is because the software is located inside the flash and you can install the USB stack and Lucifern from the new drive that will be mounted after booting.

After you installed the software you should switch off your Amiga and then remove the rescue jumper, now your hardware is ready to use as intended.

You should update the USB stack to 4.4 as that's the latest (inside the flash of Deneb I believe resides 4.0)

The FlashRom can also contain romable modules, you can clear these or add others using Lucifern, I assume there is some documentation that accompanies Lucifern, again I suggest you read this although I found the GUI easy enough to use, everything was self explanatory.

The first time you run Lucifern it will save any modules you have re-kicked like OS3.9 BB's, that's a pretty cool feature as you can then put them in the Deneb Flash Rom and disable the OS update/reboot.

Good luck and remember 'read the manual!'

I did all that and READ the manual a million times. After I update the stack to 4.4, Trident wont run becuase I have poseidon.library 4.0 and not 4.2 so if you install from the flash 4.0 how do you update to 4.4?

You probably have poseidon.library 4.0 resident in the Deneb Flash Rom, run Lucifern and empty the flash. There must be documentation provided with Lucifern.

To update 4.0 to 4.4 just install 4.4

Haha! I changed the resolution to 1280X400 laced and it works!

Thanks thats the problem. Only 1280x400 laced works. I tried all resolutions until I found the one that works.

Cheers!

I finally figured out how to use Luciferin and now I installed Poseidon 4.4 and everything works great! I don't need to burn CD's anymore! I copy the files to my USB flash drive on my Amiga and then WINUAE mounts my USB drive and now I can copy files back and forth!

Thanks Thomas!
