Whdload January Pack - Question

Hi,

just want to get the general opinion on this...

1. Do I stick with one archive for each game

2. Do I include each game and all the CAPS variants...

for example:

HardDrivin'(IPF1239)WHD201.lzx
HardDrivin'(IPF0126)WHD201.lzx

Let me know!

Pardon my ignorence, but what for?

It would only couse You x2/x3/x4 (depends of the number of different CAPS versions), plus different language versions (now this is a GREAT idea!)...
I know that you've got a whole month to do so, i know you did propose it yourself ... but i still can't see why

I'm not a collector who has to have every version of every game. All I want is a working version of a particular title and that's me happy.

Personally, I wouldn't take on the extra workload but if it makes you feel your job is more complete then by all means KG. I'm perfectly happy with the current packs being produced.

By the way, I've been meaning to ask. When a particular title in a new pack already exists in older packs, do I overwrite it? Or rename? Currently I just rename.

Different languages ARE a great idea, but ... if the game works, whats the point of another variant of the same game? Just use the one that works best :-)

K, I'm cool with the one variant then. I'll just chose the non-US, non-budget ones to release, as they are most likely to please most.

And Bloodwych, when the same game appears it's because someone has found that the version in the older pack had an error of some sort, like it was found with Technocop and Z-Out (might have been X-Out) recently.

I overwrite them myself, as the previous version has known errors, either with winuae or a real config. It may just be title music out of sync or could be a later error in the game.

Thanks KG, I'll have a search and get rid of the older versions.

Thumbs up

Maybe a separate pack for the variants for collectors?
Anyway including CAPS ID in the name would be great!

I like the CAPS ID idea too, it would be nice if you do decide to add it KG. Z-Out did have a music problem and it would be good to know which version was giving us all grief. I haven't found an AWESOME image that actually works properly with no errors on WinUAE yet. Lots of bugs with that game..

Your choice :-))
