Just a small update.

My friend sounds 10 time better vocally, his chest infection has cleared and his temperature has stopped peaking every 2 or 3 days. His feeling is still the same, but it's always a slow process and he's certainly the guy to give everything 100%.

I'm planning to do some sponsored events in my local community to raise some cash as well, and there is a sponsored football match this sunday to raise some more money.

Many thanks.

The running total is now at £226.82 (not including friends and family who are giving me cash).

He doesn't know about the collection yet as I planned to surprise him with it on the 21st Dec when he was supposed to be released.

Unfortunately he has just spent 5 days in intensive care as he suffered from a bladder infection which poisoned his blood. He's out of ICU now though and is feeling better. His release date has been pushed back in to January now so I might hold back on giving him the donations until then.

Many thanks to everybody.

I'm going to withdraw the money this weekend and take it to him one evening next week, so thanks to everyone who's donated and to everyone who has said some kind words.

Ended up at around £270 which is much more than I ever anticipated so cheers. PEOPLE ARE SO NICE!

Just a small update...

He had a fundraising charity dinner which me and my girlfriend attended last Friday night.

It was a great evening and a decent amount was raised for him from raffles, auctions and the meal itself.

I gave him a card with a cheque for a total of £500. He was visibly moved, and really was very grateful. So I'd like to thank everyone who helped out, those who posted in the thread, and even those who took the time to read it.

Many thanks people.

It is good that Mike has friends like you to support him in his time of need. How is his health these days?

He's lost a lot of weight but that's not unusual.

He's just started feeling hungry again which is very good news indeed, it means he's getting feeling back lower and lower down his body.

He's also just had his car adapted so he can actually get around on his own now, which has cheered him up no end.

Hopefully he'll make a full recovery, only time will tell!

Nice to hear he's is doing much better and is on his way to full recovery.

I hate to admit it, but I always get a bit choked up when I read stuff like this :/
