remain enthusiastic about the amiga,
are you really happy with the other os ? For me not .... For me, the Amiga is popular in your heart and even more for people in the dark, believe me, because the Amiga had not yet found a valid replacement. Please continue to support it and buy for those who can the amiga one x 1000. the pc win a fight but not yet the war .... plaease continue the war and be proud to be an amiga user. |

A full OS switch would be impossible for me without AmigaOne offering something as good as WinUAE (or better, if possible) for backwards compatibility. If that can be arranged, I'm sold

(as do most of the other requests like this) If the X1000 is top notch, gets a good software support and includes a 100% backward compatibility it doesn't need any 'virtual' support. If not... well, don't see why anybody should buy it then. I always like to think of the Miggy as an carnivore that keeps being awesome |

Dude, there is no war. Not sure there ever was one. All the best for whatever comes, but it's just going to be a fan based niche solution anyway.

XP is a pretty good OS imo in its present incarnation (i.e. SP3). It's very reliable (I tend not to surf dodgy sites or download dodgy torrents) and has far less bloat that Vista/7. Although I do like some of the features in 7....
I'm sat on the fence about the x1000. It isn't a true Amiga, just has the name. C=Amiga will always be my first love |

I'm very pleased with XP Pro, fast, stable, potentially safe (if you know how to close the ports plus what and what not to run) and compatible with pretty much everything, even some ancient DOS and Win31 software, but it's a pain in the arse to maintain. You got to do quite a deal of modifications to remove the clutter and get it to work the way you want.
With Amiga it was entirely different, WB kicked enough arse out of the box and that's one of the many things I miss |
