A1200 1D.3 issues

Hi everyone,

Hopefully someone will be able to offer some guidance here, because this board is starting to irritate me

For starters, all i get with this board is a black screen, and thats all i have ever had with it.

I have Diagrom installed in the sockets, and through serial, i still get nothing (have tested the serial cable and diagrom on a known working board and i get info on Putty).

Initially, i had found that /RST was being held low but /HLT was being held high. So i took drastic measures, and replaced Gayle with a new chip and also replaced the CPU as the trace on the reset leg had a cut, which thought was strange. I have now fixed the cut trace, but....

Now /RST is being held high, but /HLT is held low. So basically, still the same situation, no boot

It seems as though the original Galyle chip had some sort if issue, but a new chip has not resolved the underlying issue, and i can't seem to narrow it down at the moment.

Does anyone have any clues on where i should look now?

I understand your pain but I suggest that you send it to an expert, unless you need to fix it by your self.
Problem is clearly severe and not likely, you will receive feedback here.
I have sent my Amiga for even smaller problem.
That way you support community with funds and also save time, which is also precious.
Then report on finding for future reference.

Thanks mate, but i would like to persist with it, more as learning thing if anything.

I'll keep chugging along and maybe, hopefully, one day, i'll get it working, i hope
