CD32 Keyboard original?

I have a keyboard that came with my CD32 and it works fine.

My question is, could this be an original Commodore keyboard made for the CD32 or could it be a modified A1000 keyboard? I heard there was a keyboard made but it's rare.

It's beige and looks very similar to an A1000 keyboard. The only difference I can see between mine and an A1000 keyboard is mine has the mini DIN 6 pin connector and the A1000 has the larger DIN plug. I've also read the A1000 keyboard is not compatible with the CD32.

I guess it could have been modified but the cable/plug looks factory. The other end of the cable has a RJ-11 plug where the cable plugs into the keyboard.

It has the Commodore tick logo top right but no labelling underneath.

Does anyone know if this is original or not?

Thank you in advance.

The CD32 keyboard I have seen pictures of looks just like the A3000/A4000/CDTV keyboards but with a grey colour scheme to match the CD32. It was speculated that it may have been produced by a third party rather than Commdore. The A1000 keyboard should not have a DIN plug but an RJ11 in both ends. If what you have looks like an A1000 keyboard, then that's probably what it is

It makes sense that any keyboard made for the CD32 is greyish in colour, to match the unit.
If that's the case, the A1000 keyboard protocol must be compatible unless some trickery has been done to the keyboard and/or the connector/cable?

All Amigas share the same keyboard protocol. The A600 and A1200 are a little differently implemented in that the keyboard controller is on the motherboard rather than built into the keyboard.

Every Amiga keyboard was made by a third party.
The A1000 keyboard works with CD32, as does A500 if you want an ugly bare keyboard sitting externally,
and any other external one, it’s just a matter of using a different plug.
