Thanks Retro

...but that's the .ADF with Flashtro trainer.

Also, the trainer is either in the bootblock or hidden so, there's no way for me to grab the trainer and test with the HDD version of the game.

Just a minor note to say that the new versions are live on the site! http://pixelglass.org/#gianase

The Flashtro version won't need an update to bring it in line with the HDD version (as it's not based on either the WHDLoad slave nor the HDD version of the Intro). Though I guess a second button hack might be appreciated for people who use both ADFs and joypads!

I have an A600 with gotek and second button option would be useful.

Thanks chip; but as I thought, this doesn't work with the latest HDD version... probably because v1.2 files has been updated etc.

Shit, that was my fault wasn't it? Was it the Scoopex cracktro that was at fault?

Heh.. this is going back, but from memory.

I vaguely recall looking at it in the debugger and finding that it was waiting for a scanline outside of the NTSC range. Or at least, that's my guess as a layman.

Also, possibly the ADF version of the intro itself might need some work to display correctly in NTSC - with the HDD version I cropped the top and bottom to fit 200 lines tall.

But in any case, a fixed edition would be much appreciated

The ADF fails to display the cracktro screen, thus will not boot at all. The HD version of the game runs fine on NTSC.

Giana Sisters Special Edition - Giana Sisters overhauled on the Amiga

Ok upon further testing the intro seems to open a PAL screen but show a “NTSC” image as there is a large black gap at the bottom of the screen. I though it was updated to use NTSC or PAL if that is the default mode? Or at least use a NTSC screen. I tried to use my usual tools to force NTSC but they didn’t work, still opened them in PAL. Game runs in NTSC just fine.

Not this NTSC vs PAL again. The intro probably uses a smaller resolution since it's converted from the NDS game.

Ah crap, I don't think I adjusted the top of the display correctly for NTSC. I'll look into it.

No, I can't explain the NTSC/PAL thing on the HDD edition intro. Someone with more knowledge of NTSC on Amiga might be able to direct me here.

Checking in WinUAE, when overlaying screenshots here from it running in both PAL and NTSC (the slightly darker area is only visible in PAL), they seem to be positioned about the same place on screen, so I'm unsure why it's aligned to the top of your monitor.

It's because it's using the NTSC cropped image but opening it on a PAL screen.

At this point I am ok with the Intro being in PAL as I can open a PAL screen, how do I get the full image to show?

I am doing some testing on my other NTSC systems, my A1200 seems to center the image when I try it.... I will report back.

RIt only cuts off the display when NTSC is detected, so I'm not sure why it's aligning the display as though it's in PAL. Glad to hear it's better on the A1200 though.

Edit: Sorry mate, wish I could help, I just can't think of what the solution could be. Thanks for all the testing!
