E-mail reader for AmigaOS 3

I have downloaded YAM and installed it over a WinUAE configuration of an A1200 with 16MB Fast-RAM Z3, but for some reason it loops forever eating processor time and it doesnt want to start. What does I can do to make it work?

I think it is beginning to be too complicated in comparison to Windows Live Mail. Are there alternatives to YAM for AmigaOS?

Thanks!

Do you have MUI installed? Do you have all the required MUI classes installed?

Hi mailman. This is your nick because you are a YAM programmer?

I have MUI installed, but its a beta 68020 version found on http://lilliput.amiga-projects.net/mui38.htm. Seems like this is the problem, albeit I didnt have did another test on it.

I tested an older version of YAM from Aminet, and it worked, I dont know why... Maybe I use just this, or then I will reinstall MUI, if I get more problems with this or other programs.

@emufan: Thanks, I will test SimpleMail and YAM, if I could make it work on my *UAE machine.

Did you install MUI from the emulation point of view ie. you run WinUAE, run AmigaOS, unpacked the MUI-usr.lha archive and installed it or you unpacked the archive on Windows? If the latter, then this is wrong.

Well, in that case you must have MUI installed. What version of YAM did you try?

I unpacked the archive and installed everything only from AmigaOS. I tried first the version 2.8 of YAM, then later, I tried the version 1.3 from Aminet. Only the latter worked right.

On YAM website there are older versions to download. Try 2.3, 2.4, 2.5 or 2.6 and tell us if there is any change. Maybe you found some bug with 2.8?

All the problems that I had with YAM was because of a bad datatype installed in Workbench.

For now I installed only the most used datatypes, after I will install the rest one for one and see which is causing the problem.
