Harley Davidson save disk

Hi all,

I recently replayed this game in UAE,

takes a little getting used to, but i liked the customisation and the trip-like structure.

Has that Amiga feel we all know, but for the love of me, I cannot create a valid save disk: there's an in-game formatting procedure, but i always get a disk error mesage.

Has anyone got any tips?

Thank you,

Andre

Hi Andre,

Maybe the program is trying to create a save disk in DF1: whilst reading data from the original game disk in DF0:

Try creating another .ADF file and mount it in DF1: before attempting to create a save disk.

What happens when you insert a blank .ADF file in DF0: in response to that message?

Some games write the save data to the game disk. So you will require a copy of the disk to save your games on if you don't want to write to the original disk.

You should create a custom floppy disk and use that. It worked for me.
I can put it in the zone.

I did, I used the option in UAE for a low level format.

If anybody has a working save disk for that game, i would appreciate a copy.

It's one of those long games you just cannot finish on the go.

Thanks,

Andre

You could also use save states. Go to the 'Miscellaneous' panel. There you'll find 'Save state...' and 'Load state...'.

Sorry for jumping in, can't help asking since you guys are discussing that game:

How do I find out in this game if I can make it IN TIME to Sturgis?
There's no timer running anywhere I looked...so how can I know?
Since the game takes days to finish, it might be useful to know if I can just quit it instead of getting a "you failed" message 3 cities before the final one!!

Andreas,
at the pump station

hit the "w" key and you get the map
hit the "i" key to get the inventory. There you get the indication you search for.

here: http://www.lemonamiga.com/?mainurl=h...php%3Fid%3D776

I won't spoil any fun in getting to the end...

(O/T:Savestates worked a charm)

Best regards,
Andre

Eh, I do know that!
But IIRC the map only tells you WHERE you are, not the time you have left to waste until you arrive at the final city!

BTW, thanks for the docs link.
It takes a while to get thru though..."Fire 2" is an alias either for the second firebutton on the joystick or the substitute key. I had no 2nd fire button on my Miggy back then and so I had to hack around on the keys until I could make the chick bite off the weenie
