Possible collectors item?

I've been looking for a Kickstart3.1 ROM and stumbled across an A500 with a serial number less than 1000 (970) being auctioned. Is this really a possible collectors item or do the serials clock back to zero now and then?

personally i would love own

a 500 on a a500

a 501 on a 500+

a 600 on a 600 ( i think you can see the pattern lol )
