What a great feeling...
When your kids discover amiga games and likes it...
  Since PS3 got replaced with RPi over weekend, my boy enjoyed Pinball Illusions, SuperFrog and Alien Breed and he really likes it, and in case of Pinball, got competitive... My older kid is more into adnveture games and she plays mostly Zak McKracken (she finds humor great) as well rest of Lucas Art adventures. How about rest of you, are your kids into Amiga at all? |

I pity the children who don't get to play classic games from the 90's, they'll just lack understanding of where the current generation of games come from. Whatever can be done to make kids understand that grinding mechanics and pay to win are not actually what games are all about, do it.
The same for other forms of media; if I ever had kids I would introduce them to classic hand drawn cartoons first before exposing them to modern day stuff. No Frozen and Cars madness; Snow White, Winnie the Pooh, the Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Looney Tunes and Transformers G1. There is that small window of time where they are not influenced by what their friends are seeing where you have to cram as much respect for the classics into them as possible As an extreme example my parents introduced me to the 60's epic movie Once Upon a Time in the West when I was far too young to really be able to handle it - its still my favorite movie of all time to this day and as a child I was actually the one pushing my parents to rent all the classics rather than the new releases

 .... @Nibbler - bit scary at that age... My almost 7 year old this morning asked me what is that soccer game he played over weekend - he really likes it - it was Sensible Soccer. Even he already played FIFA 16 and similar, he finds SS interesting and well made. @ Gimbal - We have collection of old cartoons and our kids grow up with those, including collection of Looney Toones, which seemed a bit too violent when they were smaller. They still love it and for example, this morning they watched Tom and Jerry while waiting for school. @crazyc - thank you for suggestion, we will try it over weekend. (we limited gaming to weekend, due to school and other activities) |

Well to be fair, she loves Kirby & Yoshi to
17 years is ok, i think. We ( or me ) was 12 years old when i played the original mortal kombat, Moonstone and watched Predator, and did it any harm ? Well, i am a peaceloving humang beeing, i love animals and mother nature and i hate REAL VIOLANCE ! |

Oh, sorry my friend, you misunderstood me - it's not games that are scary at that age, but kidz are.
 It is interesting how kids can be opposite, for example my son and my daughter. |

RGL (Retro Game League) - Bubble Bobble 2 (Arcade) this week. (after 2 weeks of C64 games
) BTW, if anyone likes to join, my nick there is SuperFrog. (same like on Steam)I believe I have already moved Amiga Bubble Bobble WHDload on RPi setup. Good reminder, thanks. Never tried Furry Tanks. Will check it out. |
