Base card is probably costing around £69 / 85 EUR / US $99. When production finishes, there will be more exact costings.
@dlfrsilver This card can either hook up to A1200 via clockport cable - maybe ACA 500 / A604 in future too! Alternatively big box Amigas can just plug it into the Zorro slot. |

Any chance of a picture from the card inside a desktop A1200?

how will this fit inside with all these cables? Can the A1200 still be closed? Or do we need to be creative?

Would be great to get CD music in WHDLoad CD32 games at last.
Can you mix the cards sound with Paula inside your A1200 case? |

We've already had this discussion in a separate thread. Hardware is not the reason this has never happened before. WHDload cannot access the audio files after the game has launched as the OS is effectively disabled. With enough RAM it could cache MP3/OGG versions in a PreLoad manner... but it would be lots of work and only a handful of people would see the benefit

I'm sure there are other possibilities with the card, ScummVM is one @Novacoder, great music on the Duke video, sounds just like it's coming from a Roland SC55 |

Would it not be possible to not kill the system for these games? I'm assuming the system is used on an actual CD32, or is software able to hit the hardware directly in order to play CD audio?

Not necessarily. It is up-to the programmer. Yes. All software does is send CDDA commands to the hardware to play, stop, seek etc. and the CD32 audio mixing hardware does the rest. No AmigaOS accessing files. |

I'm not suggesting that it would be ideal, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. Quote:

I still don't get what the difference is between a soundcard like Delfina and this.
Is the only difference that you can not record anything with this card? Or is it that you can not use programs and games that support AHI with this card? (For example, I can't choose AHI to get 16bit audio for a demo that supports AHI? ) Nevertheless, I'm going to get at least one for my A4000t Last edited by ancalimon; 25 June 2014 at 23:55. |

The mp3/ogg decoder on this card is just like those many portable mp3 players. it reads data from memory and decodes the file to stereo out. It cannot edit the trumpet or the bell. You cannot compose music as you do with famous trackers. you can't play the shotgun sound in game when mowing down the enemies. this is still the job of paula. What a &%$& . Having nice background music with crackling 8 bit 8 khz samples will prove the hardware to be old. Last edited by BigFan; 26 June 2014 at 02:48. |
