International Karate Ultimate (EasyFlash, a D64 will follow later) was released. Great new backgrounds and some useful new game options/features.

Sure, they're not region-locked like DVDs and Blurays. You cannot use a 230V PSU though but need a 110V unit from an NTSC C64.
You also need a monitor that accepts a PAL signal which can be an issue with some older CRT monitors, however most modern monitors/TVs do not care about PAL/NTSC. The monitor I am using for my C64 is a Dell 2001FP which is also common in US and it works equally well with PAL and NTSC. |

Don't think that will work unfortunately. While the monitor can do 50 Hz, it will only show a black and white image if you hook up a PAL C64 to it. The 1084S can work with PAL Amigas though if you connect them through RGB, but Composite and Luma/Chroma will be B/W.

What demolition says is true. But you can also, nowadays, get a cheap converter box that will work with your 1084 or another display.
Power supply needs are easily fixable with transformers or new PSUs. You could also convert your NTSC machine to a PAL one... bit more tricky, but theoretically, with the right parts, it should work. But you still have the display issue. Solution in my view (what I did): Import an european 1084. Easiest solution: use a modern display, like demolition. |

I never had the need for one so no idea, but also, now that I think of it, is there any converter that does S-Video? All the ones I've seen are for inferior Composite.
Also wonder what would happen to the luma/chroma video output after you convert the machine to PAL. I need to check this myself (I have a half-converted NTSC machine that I need to finish) |

I use a converter from S-video to vga, so I can use my Pc monitor and it works perfect. I'm not sure if this model, but it looks like it: https://www.ebay.es/itm/AV-to-VGA-HD...Zj8CiDaPVQKL9g |

All I see when anybody does this to a computer:
Why is there even a freaking (tube?) in there?? Most of this is no added functionality. I guess my C64s have as many or more mods but they are all for a purpose. |

Looks seriously awesome. I love the screen, SD card slot and speakers, all adding new features that it didn't have before. Plus it just looks cool.

There's a lot of cheap C64 stuff on itch.io right now, great titles of the last few years for less than $5
Go fetch: https://itch.io/search?q=C64 |
