Download option?

I wonder if you guys ever planned to have an option to download mags. (cbr format)

It would be nice to be able to download one file with mag in it and be able to read it on xBox. (now that I know that it supports cbr - which is basically RAR file with changed extension)

Of course 1 file per day per reg user would prevent someone abusing the server. I'm sure that small script would be able to help to compress files automatically.

I can provide web space if there is issue with disk space. (doubling)

So, what do you think?

Nice idea Anubis.

Wouldn't PDF be a better option? I don't know if that is supported by your XBox mod, but surely it would be the most common format for scanned media

I also second the anti-abuse limit, because one issue is enough per day.

PDF and CBR are a pain imho. If a page is re-scanned or added, we have to remake the entire PDF and CBR file. If you want to view a single review, you would have to download a huge file. I am quite happy the way it works at the moment.

However, there is nothing stopping you downloading the pages from an issue individually and making up your own CBR or PDF files.

Can't you create the script that will create RAR file on the fly and just rename it with cbr extension? (In this case you don't have to do anything when you re-upload new scans, and every time we download we have latest scans.

Also while archiving scans, you don't have to select any compression (simple copy option when you create archive) as that will not take much of CPU time and with pictures you will not gain much with higher compression level anyway.

I know that we can do that, but it will take long time to download whole mag.
