HOL Genre 2.0 - Scroll Type
The Scroll Type field is fairly self-explanatory. It was originally includes for Shooters but has been extended into other genres.

Could you please put an example game beside each of these? I checked out Dogs of War for example, and it's listed as a vertical scroller. The game scrolls up for a while, then only horizontally, then up, and then sideways again. Should this be horizontal/vertical?
What is the difference between single screen and none? |

I've removed the single Vertical/Horizontal scrolling entry and replaced it with two scrolling entries; vertical and horizontal.
"None" is intended for games where there isn't really any scrolling (Eye of the Beholder) or it doesn't make sense (a text adventure). "Single screen" was envisaged for games like Smash TV e.g. where it's top down but all the happens on one screen with no scrolling. However, these two fields should probably be combined into one or the field left blank for games where the field is appropriate (such as the text adventures). |

Hmmm, the "Scrolling" entry shouldn't be in the list. I'll re-assign entries with this...
