There is really no need for you to apologize. These forums are for sharing knowledge and ideas between enthusiasts and time spent doing this is never wasted due to a like-minded membership. I still learn something nearly every day despite being in my eighth year as a member.

Thanks for starting this thread.

I wish you good luck with your Disk Monitor/Editor project and look forward to testing it eventually.

I'll think about it..
Thanks, Toni! That's all we can ask for, but it would surely be the icing on the cake.

Simple badblock support added.

Geometry file now supports badblocks=<blocks> line. <blocks> can be range (10-20) or single value (50) or combination of both (10-20,50). Max 8 values/ranges supported.

Geometry file (Can be used to set partition hardfile geometry, bootpri etc.. parameters which are normally located in config file only) name is <name of hardfile.hfd>.geo

Any read or write or seek that hits (completely or partially) badblock value or range will return read/write error.

uaehf.device and SCSI hardware emulation only. IDE not (yet) supported.

Note that uaehf.device RDB parser skips badblock list.

Wow! That looks pretty comprehensive. Sigma will be pleased.

I will be able to have a play with it next month when I will finally have been forced to kick my Windows XP addiction for good.

What can i say: Toni, you are the best.

I will test it the next days...

Edit: OK, first test is very promising! *.geo-file is detected and the Access of the marked badblock is rejected with a read-error (Key 03, ASC 11) or write-error(Key 03, ASC 0C) , respectively!
Now i can get a step further...
Thank you very much, Toni!
