Competition pro buttons

Hello mates, i have been experiencing some problems with my comp. pro joystick and seems that sometimes the buttons don't make contact because there's no fire ingame. Is there some way to repair them easy?. I opened up the joystick, but the two metal claws are contacting when pushed so i think that maybe y need to polish it a bit for a good contact.
Thnaks in advance!!!

P.S.: Is only me or happens to other that when gaming for a time, my hands are painful because the holding of the stick, im thinking into getting a genesis pad or cd32 one.

Me too,I have used these joysticks for the first time recently,I am not customary.

I have received a pair of them recently together an A500,the same problem that yours in one,the other one fails a little with the stick pressed down. They seem to work far better after using them a lot,so play all time what you can
