Apollo 1200 Ram board

ok guys finally have some hardware for zetro and in need of some help and advice from all you good ppl first lets see if i can get the pic`s up

yay done that bit now first sorry for quality of pics but had to use cam on me phone. as you can see i have an apollo ram board (8 meg) wish it was fully populated but well its better than none.

right to the questions
1 is that round silver thing a battery and if so you already know what i`m going to do to it

2 anyone know if this board interferes with the pcmia 4meg ram limit thingy

thats it for now but will be back soon as seem to have a keyboard problem but will save that for later thanks in advance and all that

just found this
http://amiga.resource.cx/exp/apollo1200
so i persum that answers question 2

Yes but it's not a regular barrel battery so it has less chance of leaking. If you do not need the battery backed up clock it would be wise to safely remove it. I cannot tell but that card looks like it might be CR2032 compatible.

Yes it does. Any A1200 RAM card that is not an accelerator is not PCMCIA safe.

cheers thought it was but it always best to have a second opinion

the top of it is lose and could bend it off, in other words it looks/is knackerd
have a clock on the er clock port so time is taken care of, well if battery on that is`t knackerd that is.

so thanks again now I`m of to warm the old soldering iron up

@Cosmicfrog

Ahhh thankies for the Hardware Pr0n

mmm the Apollo 1200 Ram Board, a quick way to add SCSI yummyness to ones A1200 AND 8MB Fast.

Now as Alexh points out the Button Cell battery is a better make and is Less likely to Leak.... however... mind did on my 060 card....

I had no choice but to send it to JJB to get it repaired.... thats how bad it got! personally i felt the guy performed a miracle had one of seen the damage.

You can replace it with a rechargeable 3.5 volt battery, like the ones Davideo and Chiark found... infact if you sweet talk Chiark nicely and promise him some beer tokens and hardware pr0n he may have a compatible one spare

lookin at the photo in amiga hardware link looks like its just a few chips short and a rom, few caps nd resitor to add scsi 2 this card

I realy need a 03 or a 04 or core bilimy a 06 would be nice still where would we be if we could`t dream

YAY!!!!

die crappy battery!!!!!

Ahhh the non-scsi version.

I believe not only do you need the logic IC's and resistor networks, but maybe you will need an updated MACH chip.

I suspect it was the removing it and putting it back rather than the cleaning.
