A2000 Power LED

The Power LED on my 2000 flashes like mad when the amiga is doing most things. The problem starts as soon as the machine is turned on, however some certain programs stop this problem from happening for some reason.

What could cause this?

Could the power LED have been incorrectly connected to the harddisk activity by mistake?

No. I currently dont even have a hard drive installed. This problem happens even when idling in WB, the computer doesnt have to be loading.

Funnily enough, my A1200 does the same thing, but it didn't always do it...
I've been under the assumption that it's when there's a lot of power usage there's not enough left to power the LED properly
