Federation Of Free Traders (FOFT)

Does anybody remember this Elite clone. It was quite a good game in its own right with some interesting missions thrown in but docking was a nightmare if I remember correctly. There was also quite a nifty feature allowing you to communicate with other pilots.

I always liked the look of FOFT but never got round to REALLY playing it.The time i did spend on it was mostly aimless but i did like the atmosphere (more vast than the Amiga's Elite i thought).

Yes the docking was awful. I own the game, and remember trying to dock was hard, and I did have the manual by my side

I remember there was an audio tape with the game's music bundled with the game.

But docking was much easier than elite, sometimes you had to press D three times in order for the docking computers to work. FOFT had also a build in language. Pretty useless but impresive IMHO

Yep the tune is rather great , better than the synth version actually.

There was an announcement about an an additional music disc for F.O.F.T.
Was this music disc ever released? Anyone seen this?

I have a spare original soundtrack cassette that came with the game if anyone wants to swap something for it..
