Apollom 1240 price advice
I have one to dispose of (well probably unless I really want to keep it) as I will be happy with the Blizzard 1220/4. Its 25mhz and I am wondering what sort of price I can expect for it. Any ideas?

16Mb IIRC and if you READ the post you'll see its 25mhz although IIRC all the 25mhz were 28mhz.

The Apollo 040 isn't really suited to a desktop case.. They require a good amount of airflow..
Meth: from looking at ebay auctions you can expect at least £50+ |

Thanks Bip. I assume this is a question of leaving trapdoor off and making sure A1200 sits on something so that you get some airflow?

yeah, I had an Apollo 040 in my 1200 years ago, and If I didn't give it room for airflow it crashed regularly
I'm sure my 040 had a fan on it though I cannot remember for certain |

Greatest respect Effy but you're being a plonker if you think U cannot use Apollos with Mediator and ZIV boards. I've known several mates with no probs at all and had one myself a while back.
SOME people have had timing issues with Apollos but that is cos of the myriad of A1200 mobo revisions some of which cope better with timing than others. Why dya think we have people looking for specific A1200 revision boards? Som ARE better than others. |

Methanoid : Just hunted for more information and indeed I appearantly need to admit that I am a kind of plonker, whatever that means . Apollo cards do seem to work with the Mediator according to Elbox their site. Maybe my information was a bit outdated, sorry then didn´t mean to hurt you feelings

It´s a fact : Apollo cards aren´t that reliable then the Blizzard ones !!!
Blizzard 1240 -> ~ 100 Euro Apollo 1240 -> ~ 60 Euro All prices refer to german EBay ! |

I have an Apollo 060/50 for my A4000, its good but i would rather have a Cyberstorm..
I think you should listen to Retroman`s post I think the Apollo cards were cheaper when they got released, thats why they are abit less worth |

Not a bad idea.. but I reckon all I *might* want would be the Eyetech ZIV tower in preparation for a Dragon Busboard in due course!!!
