Yes, we just a added an SPDIF module so a small redesign of the card in the last month following some customers feedback.

The SPDIF module will be an optional extra that piggy backs onto the card.

First the Indivision with DVI output. Then a new network card with future USB expansion. Now a new sound card with digital output. We're moving up in the world!

Now we just need a new batch of Zorro III/II video cards with native DVI. Or, dare I dream, a video/sound card combo with HDMI.

A big thanks to all involved. I'll have to start putting some extra dosh aside

Our programmer tested the latest prototype with FLAC today. Here is what he said:

Quote:
Just for reference if anyone's interested in FLAC - My A1500 (7.14MHz, OS3.1) just managed to play a FLAC of I Feel Fine by the Beatles (2:20) without problem, but it did need a hefty buffer size of 1MB (my Zip drive isn't a speed demon ).

Next comes the "Yes" test (7 minutes), then comes the Iron Butterfly test (In-a-gadda-da-vida - all 17 minutes of it - though that won't fit on a Zip disk as a FLAC!)

Latest News updated on Prisma Megamix:

Prisma.library is completed

MHI driver development is also completed and working- this is good for compatibility with programs such as AmigaAmp.

A new redesign of the board and SPDIF out option has been added and tested!

We are going to production shortly with first batch being a few hundred units.

Price is of course subject to change, but to give you an idea, it is likely to be approximately GBP £70 / 85 EUR including VAT (US $ 95 ) depending on final price of the sound chip and costs of hiring the production machines.

5 EUR more was added to cost for gold plating on the Zorro connector - we thought this would be better than going for budget options.

Is Frogger's audio decoder planned? Second question - is hardware mixing for multichannel modules planned too? Without the second one at least we get next (quite pricy) mp3 decoder only...
Third - if things above are not planned will you provide an API or any other documentation, so other developers could prepare dedicated plugins for existing software?

Do you know if Frogger is still supported or maintained- it would be really great to add support for it in Frogger.

No hardware mixing, only software mixing is planned in AHI.

API is already implemented through prisma.library

Here's what you currently need to do to play an OGG Vorbis file:

Code:
PrismaBase = OpenLibrary( "prisma.library", 0L);
Prisma_Init();
Prisma_PlayFile( "GreatMusic.ogg" );
CloseLibrary( PrismaBase);

Sad they are taking the easy way out but, in the other hand, good the new hardware for classic Amiga is being released anyway.

About Frogger - rather not, for long time now but afair its audio decoder's api is well documented.
I'm trying to reach the author now... Will post an info here if i get something usefull.

I guess it's a bit late for this, but I believe that desktop users would surely appreciate having clockport and audio connectors on each end of the board so it can be properly isolated with some thermal shrinking tube as found on Subway cards.

Looking forward to playing with this new card, the plan is to add support for this card into the next release of ScummVM AGA/RTG.

It might be possible to use this card to play compressed music (OGG/FLAC) and also uncompressed audio (PCM) for SFX, that's the plan anyway.

I'm also interested in the AHI driver for this card and how it compares to using Paula (CPU cycles and audio quality).

Watch this space

Is the card going to be an amigakit-exclusive offer or will other dealers also have a share of the first batch?
