Palette Problems

Hi there,

I have a nagging problem with the palette being displayed oddly in winuae 0.8.22r9 when using Picasso to access the higher screen resolutions.

I have had no problems installing Scalos and MUI and suchlike but no matter what i try this particular problem will not go away. All the colours seem to display properly with icons and everything but when i try to access the palette tool it never displays the correct colours. I have attached a screen shot as its kinda hard to to discribe.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks in advance

Strange ...
What GFX Card/Driver do you use? Is Direct3D Filtering enabled? (or OpenGL etc.)

Ok the windows side of things I have a GF TI 4200 using 44.3 detonator drivers. Inside UAE all filtering is disabled and the screenmode for workbench is set to UAEGFX:640x480 PC 65k colour depth.

Really odd thing is if i use AIAB with the same workbench disks kickstart rom etc the palette looks normal. Its just when i start to make my own install it does this.

Currently all i have done is create a harddisk file install workbench then install the picasso drivers.

maybe there is a problem with the picasso drivers?
Check those versions:

rtg.library 40.3992
uaegfx.card 0.9
devs/monitors/uaegfx 40.42

You get the Version info from a well configured DirOpus / Diskmaster with a single click or by typing:

version <filename>

at the shell-prompt while beeing in the correct drawer with the file you wan't to investigate.

Ok i had a look with the hex editor and the versions i have are.

rtg.library = 40.3945
uaegfx.card = 0.9
dev/monitor/uaegfx = 40.42

It seems my rtg.library is out of date can you point me in the direction of the later one? mine came from here http://www.picasso96.cogito.de/

Do you run in windowed of fullscreen mode ? What is the screenmode of your Windows desktop ?

Did you try other screen modes, e.g. 800x600x16 or 640x480x8 or 640x480x32 ?

I have tryed other screen modes and it still happans. I belive I may have found the cause though. If i set the JIT cache to 0 its runs quite a bit slower as expected but the palatte draws correctly, the moment I start upping the cache size it draws with errors again.
